FORK Refund Policy

Last updated 2026-06-03

FORK credits and prompt unlocks are generally final and non-refundable because a prompt is revealed the moment you unlock it, but we make narrow exceptions for duplicate or erroneous charges, proven fraud, and prompts that are materially not as described or non-functional.

Overview

This Refund Policy explains when purchases on FORK can and cannot be refunded. FORK is a creator marketplace for AI prompts operated at forkitover.ai by FORK ([Legal Entity Name — to be confirmed]).

On FORK you buy credits in bulk and then spend those credits to unlock prompts published by creators. One credit is worth US$0.10. Buying credits is handled through Stripe.

Because credits are a digital product and unlocking a prompt immediately reveals its full content to you, most purchases on FORK are final. This policy describes the limited situations where we will still consider a refund, how to ask for one, and what happens to a creator's earnings if a buyer is refunded.

Last updated: June 3, 2026.

Credits Are a Digital Product

Credits are FORK's in-platform currency. When you buy credits, you receive a digital balance in your account that you can spend on the marketplace. Credits are not a deposit, not cash, and not redeemable for cash, and they have no value outside FORK.

Because credits are delivered to your account instantly and can be used right away, a credit purchase is treated as a completed digital-goods sale at the moment the balance lands in your account.

Key points to know about credits:

  • Credits are added to your account immediately after your Stripe payment is approved.
  • Credits do not expire, but they remain non-transferable to other accounts.
  • Unused credits can sit in your balance indefinitely and be spent later; they are not automatically refunded.
  • Promotional, bonus, or gifted credits are never refundable and carry no cash value.

Unlocks Are Final Because the Prompt Is Revealed

When you spend credits to unlock a prompt, the full prompt is revealed to you at that instant. Before you unlock, you see a locked preview that intentionally does not reveal the full prompt, so you can decide whether to buy. After you unlock, you have received exactly what you paid for: the complete prompt.

For this reason, unlocks are generally final and non-refundable. Once a prompt has been revealed, we cannot un-reveal it, and the value has already been delivered. This is the same principle that applies to most downloadable or instantly-accessed digital goods.

We encourage you to use the locked preview, the prompt's description, any "Sample output" examples, and creator information to make your decision before unlocking. If something about a prompt is unclear before you buy, contact the creator or reach out to us at support@forkitover.ai.

Please note that some items in the FORK library include AI-generated demonstration material labeled "Sample output." These samples illustrate what a prompt is designed to produce and are not a guarantee of the exact results you will get, since AI tools can produce different output each time they are run. A difference between a labeled sample and your own results is not, on its own, grounds for a refund.

When We Will Consider a Refund

Even though credit purchases and unlocks are generally final, we will review refund requests in the following limited situations. Approval is at FORK's reasonable discretion and depends on the facts of your request.

Duplicate or erroneous charges. If you were charged twice for the same credit purchase, charged an amount that does not match what you agreed to, or charged because of a clear billing or technical error, we will correct it. This typically means refunding the duplicate or excess charge to your original payment method, or restoring the correct credit balance.

Proven fraud or unauthorized use. If a purchase was made on your account without your authorization, for example because your payment card or account was compromised, we will investigate and, where fraud is established, reverse the affected charge. We may ask for reasonable verification and may involve Stripe and the relevant card network in the investigation.

A prompt that is materially not as described or non-functional. If a prompt you unlocked is materially different from how it was described or presented, or is broken in a way that prevents it from being used as intended (for example, it is empty, garbled, truncated, or clearly does not match its stated purpose), we will review it. If we agree it is materially not as described or non-functional, we will refund the credits spent on that unlock or, where appropriate, the underlying payment.

What does not qualify on its own:

  • Changing your mind after unlocking a prompt that works as described.
  • Getting AI output that differs from a labeled "Sample output," since AI results naturally vary.
  • Dissatisfaction with results that depend on how you used the prompt, the AI tool you ran it in, or your own inputs.
  • Buying more credits than you ended up needing (unused credits remain in your balance for future use).

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email us at support@forkitover.ai from the email address on your FORK account. The more detail you give us, the faster we can help.

Please include:

  • The email address associated with your FORK account.
  • The date of the purchase or unlock and the amount or number of credits involved.
  • The prompt name or order reference, if your request is about a specific unlock.
  • A short explanation of the problem (for example, "charged twice," "I did not make this purchase," or "the prompt is empty / not as described"), plus any screenshots that help.

Timelines you can expect:

  • We aim to acknowledge your request within 2 business days.
  • We aim to make a decision within 10 business days of receiving the information we need; complex cases, such as suspected fraud, may take longer.
  • If a refund is approved, it is issued to your original payment method through Stripe. The time it takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer and is outside FORK's control, but is commonly 5 to 10 business days.

Where it makes sense, and where you agree, we may resolve a request by restoring credits to your FORK balance instead of refunding your payment method.

Effect on a Creator's Earnings

When a buyer unlocks a prompt, the creator earns 70% of that unlock, and creators may also earn "fork" royalties when others build on their prompt. Creator earnings are paid out weekly through Stripe Connect.

If a buyer is refunded for an unlock, or the buyer's payment is reversed through a chargeback, the earnings tied to that transaction are reversed as well. In practice this means:

  • The unlock earnings (and any related fork royalties) for the refunded transaction are removed from the creator's earnings balance.
  • If those earnings have not yet been paid out, the reversal simply reduces the creator's current balance.
  • If those earnings have already been paid out, the reversed amount is deducted from the creator's next payout(s) until it is recovered. In rare cases involving significant or fraudulent activity, we may pause payouts while we resolve the matter.

This keeps the marketplace fair: creators are paid for genuine sales, and earnings from a transaction that is refunded or reversed do not remain in a creator's balance. We will communicate with affected creators about any reversal applied to their earnings.

Chargebacks and Account Holds

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first at support@forkitover.ai. We can almost always resolve duplicate charges, billing errors, and unauthorized-use claims faster than the formal chargeback process, and without disruption to your account.

Filing a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer before contacting us, or filing one for a purchase that was validly made and delivered, may lead us to place a hold on or suspend your account while the dispute is investigated.

While a dispute or hold is active, we may:

  • Temporarily freeze your credit balance and your access to previously unlocked prompts.
  • Pause any related creator payouts connected to the disputed transaction.
  • Decline new purchases on the account until the matter is resolved.

Misusing the chargeback process, for example to obtain free access to prompts that were properly delivered, is a breach of our terms and may result in permanent account closure and loss of any remaining credit balance. We will cooperate with Stripe and the card networks to provide evidence in dispute investigations.

Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to take away or limit any rights you have under the laws that apply to you. Some countries, states, or regions give consumers mandatory rights for digital products, including certain rights to a refund, that cannot be waived by a policy like this one.

Where such mandatory rights apply, they continue to apply alongside this policy, and this policy is read as adding to those rights rather than replacing them. If a term here conflicts with a right the law guarantees you, the law controls for that term.

If you believe you have a statutory right to a refund, let us know at support@forkitover.ai and tell us where you are located, and we will work with you to honor the rights that apply to you.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to how the marketplace works or to comply with new legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify users.

Refund requests are handled under the version of this policy in effect at the time of your purchase or unlock.
